Life after death can form complex debates and discussions amongst many people. Although many cultures and religions teach of the world to come, no science or discovery can prove the concept to be correct, or incorrect. Each to their own! - Fertilise your garden: coffee grounds contain several key minerals for plant growth – nitrogen, calcium, potassium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, and chromium. Simply sprinkle the coffee grounds around your plant and the job is done. Oh, and the grounds help attract worms and decrease heavy metal concentration in your soil. Not bad at all!
- Repel insects and pests: coffee grounds contain compounds that are toxic to many insects. Use them to repel mosquitoes, fruit flies, beetles and even slugs and snails. Sprinkle them around your garden. For mosquitoes, you can also burn the dry grounds on a sheet of aluminium foil; the odour repels mosquitoes
- Neutralise Odours: coffee grounds contain Nitrogen, which helps eliminate a foul-smelling sulphur gas from the air when combined with carbon. Therefore, coffee grounds can help eliminate odours from your refrigerator, gym bag, shoes, or simply put in pantyhose to create an air freshener. You can also use them as hand scrub to remove the lingering smells or garlic and onion.
- Natural cleaning scrub: coffee grounds, can be used as an abrasive cleaner. They can help sanitise (due to antibacterial and antiviral properties) and remove build up from sinks, cookware, drains, grills, and other surfaces around the house. However, do not use coffee grounds on porous materials since they can cause brown stains.
- Reduce the appearance of cellulite: according to some scientific discoveries, through mixing the grounds with water or coconut oil and scrubbing for 10 minutes twice weekly on affected areas, the coffee grounds can help break down the fat and increase blood flow in the area thus decreasing the appearance of cellulite.
