Many of our followers ask us how a capsule is made and what is the process of putting a bean in a capsule. I shall try to explain it as simply as possible for you to appreciate what it takes to make a premium quality coffee at an affordable price.

Actually, the process is much longer than one may think, and from the day we buy our coffee to the day it is ground and packaged, the process may take 1.5 to 2 years. As you may know, coffee is a commodity, and therefore we purchase it in the commodities market, through certified intermediaries, via future contracts. The coffee is then handpicked (a long and laborious process considering that coffee grows at altitudes of 1500m to 2000m above sea level in some cases). After a process of washing and preparation for shipping, we receive samples to confirm the quality of the product.

Once our Quality Control analysts confirm the product, the coffee is shipped, and we receive it after a couple of months. Each coffee type is then tested again to ensure it is what we purchased and then roasted separately and per type and left to decant; this allows the beans to expel all the gases that form due to roasting – a process that takes about three weeks. At the end of this process, we create the blends by mixing the various roasted Arabica and Robusta beans required per specific blend.

Finally, the coffee is ground and immediately packaged in capsules and shipped to all you RossOro lovers. 100% ground coffee – no soluble products or additives (follow our blog and social media for more about this in the coming weeks).

Isn’t it amazing to know the care and time it takes to prepare your RossOro premium espresso?
